For story, start with a dps class. It's still doable with a support but it goes through much faster if you have a dps that has large aoes or that has higher movement speed/skills. You can easily switch to a more preferred class once you reach North vern, where you unlock knowledge transfer.

Martial Artists are swift fighters best suited to rushing the enemy with combined attacks. Lost Ark players focused on DPS and landing flurries of attacks in combination will be suited to playing Martial Artists. The Martial Artist class is further broken down into four advanced subclasses starting at level 10.

Bard is a low S tier for 3v3 ranked. Not because of their damage but because of how much they can support the other 2 players. Everyone will be happy if you end up on their team and you're decent at playing support. 1v1 Bard is terrible, probably the worst in the game.

I enjoy playing it solo, but many other people do not. My suggestion is just to give it a try and see if you like it. It's free to play, so the only "cost" is going to download bandwidth and maybe a bit of time if you don't end up liking it. games dead wouldn't even bother.

All By Yourself. A new Solo Mode where you can play your way at your speed. Run through raid mechanics on your own before showing off your skills with a group, or if you're feeling anti-social, stay solo.

In short, as a none paying player you can progress but you wont be playing much due to gate keeping deny the average player' ilv and experience. If you have 3-7 friends to raids with, then it wont be much of an issue, granted you guys classes can compliment the overall synergy.
